Hello everyone! I am new to the community. Just joined. My name is Megan. I've been a huge fan of Mr. Day-Lewis since I was 11 years old. I'm almost 21 lol. He's definately one of my favorite actors of all time.
I think I became a fan because of my older (half) sister. She showed my younger sister and I "In the name of the father" one night when babysitting us. As a kid, I was a rather socially conscious. well I still am, so I took a huge liking to the movie.

I have these memories of being in school and watching movies with Daniel in them. I remember in 8th grade watching "Last of the Mocheans." My classmates complained about watching the movie, but i seriously enjoyed it haha. I just remember being all surprised that he was in it! Same kinda goes with "The Crucible." I watched it my junior year of high school in english class. I had no clue that he was in the crucible. I remember being thrilled when my teacher said the movie had him in it.

One more great memory I have is watching "My Beatufiul Laundrette." I saw the movie for the first time when I was rather ill. I just have to say it was a beautiful film and it definately made me feel better.

This past semester (I am in college), I got this insane craving to watch his movies. Unfortunately, the stupid movie rental shop, didn't have much of his stuff. As time went by, I got busy and forgot about the movies i wanted to watch. Fast Forward to now (about a 4 month time span), my craving finally came back haha.

This past Saturday, I was chanel surfing. I have Direct TV and there's a new chanel called Sleuth, which shows movies and stuff about crimes and mysteries and such. I was just looking at the guide to see what was coming on at 12 am on any chanel. I came across "In the Name of the Father." at first I thought I was seeing things, but to my surprise, It was definately coming on. So despite being tired, I stayed up and watched it. I realized after watching the movie, it was my first time seeing it in like 10 years probably. and because of watching that movie, I am now on this quest to see the other DDL movies I have yet seen.

I just watched "The Ballad of Jack and Rose." I liked it. I will probably watch it again to fully get the jist of it. I used to be a film studies student, so I've learnd that inorder to really like a movie, you need to watch it twice. atleast that is the way it is for me.

Anyways, I figured I'd just introduce myself and tell you all a little background about my interest in Daniel Day-Lewis. I am glad to see that I am not the only fan around here :)

thank you! and ditto on it being a life-chaning film. amen to that! for me, it made me realize how important life is. also, it's made me more politically and socially aware. and finally, the movie in some way gives me hope and comfort that there are attorneys out there who will fight for justice and the innocent and try to screw over corrupt legal systems.

i finally saw In the Name of the Father. Daniel was amazing and was beautiful at the same time. I'm glad i got to see it!

i'm really happy you got to see it! i'm thinking about getting it for my birthday. i need to just own all of daniel's stuff.

I LOVE YOUR ICON!! ellen_mirai V for Vendetta was an awesome movie!
